Bungalows · Victorians · Townhomes · Modern Infill
The Heights sits just northwest of downtown, and few Houston neighborhoods mix architecture like it — historic Craftsman bungalows and Victorian cottages next to new modern townhomes and infill homes on narrow, walkable lots. Displays here live or die on precision, because every house is seen up close.
Clean lines show every flaw. On a modern townhome or a tidy bungalow roofline, a sagging run or uneven spacing is obvious from the sidewalk. Runs are measured and custom-cut to your roof rather than stretched from a standard length.
Porches and gables are their own job. Many Heights bungalows and Victorians have deep front porches with columns, railings and decorative gables. Lighting follows the porch line and the gable edges, attached for that surface, so the historic shape reads cleanly after dark.
Narrow lots put houses close together. On walkable, tree-lined streets and along the Heights Boulevard esplanade, the display that wins is the one that is sharply defined rather than the one that is brightest. Crisp roofline, lit porch, and a pathway — done precisely — reads better than volume.
Townhomes need precise entry lighting. Tall, narrow townhome elevations share walls and rooflines with their neighbors. Lighting your own upper roofline cleanly and pulling attention to your entry gives each unit a finished look without spilling onto the next.

Heights questions
Yes. Tall, narrow townhomes and modern infill are common on newer Heights lots, so the lighting follows the roof edge and clean architectural lines instead of a one-size template. Clips are chosen for the surface, and nothing is drilled or nailed.
Yes. On tree-lined streets the roofline can be partly hidden, so the display is built in layers: a precise roofline, a lit entry, pathway lighting and wrapped trunks where it makes sense. That brings the display forward so it reads from the sidewalk.
Yes. Porch columns, railings and gables are often the best features on a historic Heights home, so they can be outlined along with the roofline to frame the entry. It's worth raising at the consultation so the design covers the porch as well as the roof.

Before you decide
You see it before it goes up. We walk your home, design to its architecture, and show you the plan and the price. Nothing is ordered or installed until you say yes.
